Data Queries, Analyses and Reports |

 This is the most important AND most challenging component of CompeTrax. Information must be extracted from the data being collected and used to intelligently manage and monitor the continuing competence program and the profession. Otherwise the investment and effort involved in developing and operating this system will be wasted.
This component is also challenging because this is the first time we have had such comprehensive data on competencies. We have little knowledge and experience with what data to collect, how to analyze it, and how to use the resulting information to manage professional practitioners and their competencies.
Although analytical tools have been around for some time, few are available to provide real-time, interactive results in a web-based application such as CompeTrax. Over the next few years we will have to adapt existing, and/or develop new, effective tools for competence program managers and their professional associations.
In this component of the CompeTrax prototype, we have created demonstrations and examples of four possible approaches to the analysis and use of the data. These are data queries, statistical analyses, graphs and charts, and reports. Click on the sub-menu on the right to go to appropriate section.
We have also provide some examples of the types of questions the data should be used to answer.
